Recognizing the Colombian Palenquera woman is easy with her colorful dress, radiant smile, expressive eyes, headwrap or scarf, and atop it all, a plate or vessel brimming with fruits. It is a tradition as Afro-Colombian women that we see in the streets of Cartagena and elsewhere in the Colombian Caribbean, carrying the legacy of the culture of our country, beautiful costumes and flowers with the Colombian tricolor.

“My Palenquera” frames two cultures, the traditional Caribbean with its typical costume, expression of feelings and folklore, and the Boyacense represented in the fruits of our region, very rich and varied of our department, which are mixed illustrating a complement that covers part of the Colombian territory.
